Presentation
In bambara Madomko has two meanings according to the pronunciation : invitation to dance or what each human being knows
MADOMKO was born from the Lydia Domancich's meeting and experiences . it is a quartet, or a quintet with voice, or also a sextet with sax and voice.
What music?
Madomko's music base oneself on the relationship between keyboards, West African percussion and voices, between Europe and Africa. A subtle amalgam in which each participant retains the essence of their culture.
Madomko create a music based on original compositions, deriving from jazz its structures, improvisatory leanings, sense of exchange; from contemporary classical music, its harmonic and sonic research; and from African music, its rhythmic richness and its relationship to time and the human body.
An endlessly shifting universe, between written and oral, composed and spontaneous collective creation.
This meeting is also a challenge, an attempt to realize a surprising and rare harmony, beyond the barriers of time, space and thought.
Historical account
