In bambara Madomko has
two meanings according to the pronunciation : invitation to dance
or what each human being knows
|
MADOMKO was
born from the Lydia Domancich's meeting and experiences . it is
a quartet, or a quintet with voice, or also a sextet with sax and
voice. |
What music? |
| Madomko's music base oneself on the
relationship between keyboards, West African percussion and voices,
between Europe and Africa. A subtle amalgam in which each participant
retains the essence of their culture. |
| Madomko create a music based on original
compositions, deriving from jazz its structures, improvisatory leanings,
sense of exchange; from contemporary classical music, its harmonic
and sonic research; and from African music, its rhythmic richness
and its relationship to time and the human body. |
An endlessly shifting universe, between written and
oral, composed and spontaneous collective creation.
This meeting is also a challenge, an attempt to realize a surprising
and rare harmony, beyond the barriers of time, space and thought. |
